Arlene Walrond has been weaving words into captivating narratives since her childhood. An island woman, native of Ste. Madeleine Village in south Trinidad, in the vibrant Caribbean, her creative journey spans various forms, encompassing poems, short stories, songs, articles, and even a play. In 2004, Arlene's commitment to her craft gained recognition when her inaugural article, "Facing Challenges," found a home in the pages of the Caribbean Compass, marking the beginning of a series of published works. Notably, her poignant short story "Tears For My Mother" earned a place in the esteemed 2010 anthology "Across The Caribbean". Arlene's talent continued to shine as her flash fiction story "Looks" achieved long-list status in the prestigious 2011 Brighton Cow winter contest.
