Carol Van Drie is a writer, artist, and wife of an Army officer. She has thirty years' experience of learning to cook on a budget, with strange ingredients in foreign countries, for three growing children, for her husband’ s guests, and in a new kitchen about every 1.5 years. She has written two books as well as news articles and humorous columns for publications large and small. The local arts council selected Carol as the year’ s upcoming artist and gave her a month-long show for her needle-felting creations. She and her husband now live in Okemos, Michigan, where she continues to write, needle-felt, visit with her grandchildren, and play with her two mischievous Cornish Rex cats.
