I'm passionate about literature and confess to an almost lifelong love affair with the muse. It's a given, then, that I'm an introvert and spend much time living in my head. I was raised in a family that loved music, literature, compassion, humour and the spiritual. And it was a family that acknowledged and lived the copious complexities of family dynamics. My entire childhood took place in the cauldron of the Saskatchewan prairies, a harsh, isolated province in boundless Canada.
Living my adult life in the far more cosmopolitan southern Ontario, my vocation of motherhood and various careers as teacher, social worker, private counsellor and website designer became further fodder for my writing. I perceive writing as the energetic combination of attention, imagination, eccentricity, music, perception and solitude.
