An extreme introvert, Emila H (Emilah) Thicke sold her first speculative fiction story at the age of seventeen, featuring a time-traveling heroine named Susie McKenzie, based in part on Emilah herself. Her submission led to her meeting her co-author, who introduced her to T&T, GURPS, and other role-playing games.
For a number of years, Emilah was known as Arlene in the WarTune MMORPG.
When not writing or editing, Emilah enjoys creating digital art and 3D animations. As a member of Max Gumdrop, she creates digital sounds for inclusion in their music. She lives in Central Florida with her significant other, not far from her co-author. She's glad to have him as a father figure, never having known her real one.
