Hilary Evans (6 March 1929 - 27 July 2011) was a British pictorial archivist, author, and researcher into UFOs an the paranormal. He held degrees from both Cambridge and Birmingham Universities and was a former council member of the Society for Psychical Research. In 1981 he helped found the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP). He was the author of several books on aspects of social history and the paranormal and had a special interest in the serious study of the UFO phenomenon, on which he lectured widely. He was a director of the Mary Evans Picture Library and lived in London.
