Born in Egypt of military parents, Laura Strange spent her childhood moving from one air force base to another in the north of England. After too many years at boarding school she studied literature, art history and linguistics at universities in England, Canada and New Zealand, where she now lives. For ten years she wrote book reviews for a national newspaper as well as feature articles on the outdoors. At different times Laura has been an enthusiastic caver, rock-climber, hiker and kayaker. She is also a keen traveller and writer.
