Hi, 

My name is Matthew Tandy and I am a Nottinghamshire based children's author.

They say that becoming a parent changes your life, well who would have thought that my stories were to be produced two years after my Son's birth. As a first time author I wanted to write stories for my Son that would act as an adventurous diary of his early years whilst also taking our family on a joyous journey of imagination.

Children’s literature is a wonderful thing as I feel there are no bounds to what you can write about. Often the sillier, more outlandish and inspirational tales can transport your mind to anywhere you wish to take it. I have taken inspiration from poetry I read as a child by Spike Milligan, wonderfully creative stories by Roald Dahl and more recently from a number of works by Julia Donaldson, leading me to explore what my imagination can make of such influences.

Jack's Secret Garden is the first story in a series about Jack's adventures in a world of imagination. He is introduced to an amazing family secret and guided by a wonderful bond between Father and Son. Written in poetic form and beautifully illustrated, Jack's Secret Garden has already been a hit with children and parents alike.

Secret garden stories has been born out of this and my endeavour is to make a companion series of shorter stories for new borns and babies all set within the world of the secret garden.
