Ted Figura is an economic development professional with more than 40 years of experience in the field and a Masters in Urban Studies with a concentration in urban economics. He has been consulting and performing fiscal impact analyses since 2009, following a career in municipal government during which he developed the principles applied to his fiscal impact work. Figura has performed more than 85 fiscal impact analyses and written a dozen opinion letters for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.  He has done work in more than 15 Virginia localities for more than 45 private sector clients.  Having worked in the public sector for nearly three decades, he brings to his work a keen understanding of local government needs and expectations, resulting in a conservative approach that engenders confidence in the objectivity of the end product. This has allowed Figura to convincingly bust long-held myths about the fiscal impact of residential and commercial developments.
