Martha Wells is the author of five previous novels: The Wizard Hunters, the first book of the Fall of Ile-Rien, The Element of Fire, City of Bones, Wheel of the Infinite, and The Death of the Necromancer, which was nominated for the Nebula Award. She lives in College Station, Texas, with her husband.
Jonathan Brazee graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served 30 years in the Marines as a commander of infantry, recon, MSSG, and air delivery units as well as in various staff billets. He served with the 3d CAG as the military liaison to USAID in Iraq in 2006 and retired as a colonel in 2009. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the U. S. Naval Academy Alumni Association, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
RICHARD BOWES was raised in Boston, went to school on Long Island and has lived in Manhattan for most of the last forty-seven years. He wrote fashion copy and plays, sold antique toys in flea markets, worked on library information desks and got into an amazing amount of trouble along the way. For the last thirty years and more he has written speculative fiction and published six novels and two short-story collections (with two more due out this year). He has published seventy stories and won two World Fantasy, a Lambda, an IHG and Million Writers Awards.
In the best of all timelines, K.M. Szpara lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his black cat and miniature poodle. He has a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, which he totally uses at his day job as a paralegal. On nights and weekends, Kelly advances his queer agenda by writing science fiction and fantasy novels. His short fiction appears in Lightspeed, Shimmer, and Glittership.
