Tanya Wilkinson, Ph.D, maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and consultation in San Francisco, practicing from a Jungian/feminist perspective. She has belonged to a women's dream group for the last 20 years. Tanya has been teaching at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco since 1980. Currently she is on the Faculty of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. Tanya has published two previous books: Medea's Folly: Women's Relationships and the Search for Intimacy (1998), and Persephone Returns: Victims, Heroes, and the Journey from the Underworld (1996). She is a mixed media artist who has been exhibiting, primarily in the Bay Area, since 1999. As a visiual artist she uses mythological, political, and biographical imagery to explore the territory of the unknown woman.
Dreams can reveal new perspectives on issues in a woman's waking life. Dream imagery may provide insight into aspects of the dreamer's inner world that are unknown to her waking mind. Using vivid examples, this book helps women to understand the dream symbols and images that are central to their experience. The ways in which dreams have been shown, in psychotherapy and research, to process emotion, address difficult memories and clarify relationship dynamics are described. Tanya Wilkinson helps the reader to develop a deep, ongoing relationship to her dream world, enabling her to use dreams to guide and enrich her life.
