After getting a call from an old friend, Martian L. Beast heads for the snowy mountains of Colorado, to try to uncover the connection between a recent werewolf sighting and a woman recently released from a psychiatric hospital after being cleared of murder charges.
A night spent following the tracks of a large predator through the woods leads to Martian and his friend being held at gunpoint by the very woman he'd hoped to find. With the help of his unfailing ability to state the obvious, Martian convinces the woman to trust him. With some reservation, but a greater need for catharsis, the woman tells a tale that begins with a flat tire on a back road and a secret hiding in the bright green eyes of the cowboy that came to her rescue. Despite his insistence at getting her away from him and out of the forest as quickly as possible, she found herself irresistibly drawn to him.
Their romantic encounter quickly goes awry, but it wouldn't be for several weeks until Trisha would learn the truth behind the man's apprehension and what really happened that night. Years later, Martian would learn how much his brief encounter with Trisha would change her life, bringing her the normalcy that every full moon night convinced her she could never have.
