Two octogenarians are forced to become amateur detectives when the former mayor disappears at the most inconvenient time.
They don't even like James Northan, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and now reckons he's a descendant of William Shakespeare.
They are supposed to be planning a trip to Ireland to research family history in this next comedy in the Windy Mountain series.
But their sleuthing intensifies when Important local landmarks start vanishing.
Then demolition men try to dismantle the old men's beloved Tasmanian Tiger Museum.
The old blokes are outraged when the local newspaper reports that they both died in a fiery car crash. It's fake news, but it is very concerning at their advanced ages.
Has the former mayor drowned himself in the stinky sewerage ponds or has he been kidnapped by the man everyone calls Messerschmitt?
Enter the cow camouflage trousers, walkie-talkies and a young American who joins the old blokes on their mission to rescue the Mayor.
Blokes on a Plane is the follow-up novel to the funny Lie of the Tiger.
Subsequent novels Whitey and the Six Dwarfs, Blokes in Donegal, Blokes in the House, Who Knew Tasmanian Tigers Eat Apples! and Who Knew Tiger Sharks also eat Apples? await with many of the same quirky characters.
