Book # 1: Sharing the Bathroom: As Jessie, a middle-aged, divorced Asian woman is standing in the bathroom in nothing but a towel, she hears her much younger roommate approach. Curious as to why the 20-something-year-old Steve doesn't use the shower upstairs, she is informed that the shower upstairs has no hot water. Forcing herself to be a polite host, Jessie offers to allow Steve to use the shower downstairs.
