Colton is a soccer player from Sweden who comes to America on a "soccer scholarship." His life as a loner vampire is radically changed when his power as a fire-starter puts him in the path of Isolde, a mad vampire who collects vampires with special abilities. Colton plans to hide from Isolde by masquerading as a foreign exchange student on a soccer scholarship in Canada. However, college proves to be an enormous challenge for Colton since he has been living as a vampire in the mountains for years. He feels like school is not for him until he meets Tanya, a tutor and student athletic trainer. Immediately, Colton feels a connection with Tanya and he tries to woo her.
As Colton grows closer to Tanya, he gets sense that he is being followed. Isolde captures Colton's friends and Colton must decide if he should save Tanya and his friends and risk being killed by Isolde or if he should run away and give up his new life.
