Marcus Clark
I have always had an interest in fiction and contemporary history.
In my novels I combine recent events with an overlay of fiction,
intertwining the two. I have written eleven novels, which are being
re-published one by one.
My intention is to write novels that will involve the reader so
that they are absorbed into the story and the events they
are reading about.

"The Eve of Destruction" is a novel about America edging toward nuclear war with the Soviet Union. It would be a war that might kill hundreds of millions of people and poison the atmosphere for fifty years.
In October 1962, American spy planes photographed missiles loaded with nuclear warheads in Cuba. The Soviet Union was installing the missiles, and they could reach targets in the USA within minutes. President Kennedy was trying to find a way out of the Cuban Missile Crisis without recourse to war.
These nuclear bombs were so powerful that just one could destroy a city.
The US armed forces were confident about attacking the Soviet Union in one all-out nuclear war, certain they would win, especially if they struck without warning. President Kennedy was doubtful about their advice and motives, cautious after they told him similar gung-ho things about the failed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.
This is the story of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the politics, the threats, the blackmail; not just the facts, but the occult events that influenced the decision to prepare for war with the Soviet Union. The radical right-wing newspaper, "The White Nation" was promoting nuclear war, segregation, and a return to the worst days of hatred and violence.
This is the true story of the Cuban Missile Crisis
"The Eve of Destruction" is a mixture of factual snippets and fictitious characters. Historical facts and quotes from President Kennedy and the Soviet Union are scattered throughout the novel, adding to the sense of realism.
