Sophia is a vampire, a coven leader. The Hunters have cleansed the Northeast, and now moved into Sophia's region to eradicate all supernatural beings there, both vampires and werewolves. But they won't go down without a fight. For the first time in centuries werewolves and vampires stop fighting each other to handle the common threat of the Hunters.
While Sophia is out with a hunting party of her own fighting against the Hunters, a pack of wolves shows up and complicates things. When Kai shifts into his human form, their attraction is instant, and so is their inevitable fate it seems. The Hunters gain the advantage over Kai's pack and Sophia's vampires, leaving them with no choice but to flee together. She allows those left of Kai's pack asylum in the vampires' safe house. While stuck there her attraction with Kai explodes into something neither of them is prepared for.
Only, they don't know how long their love affair, or their lives, will last in a forest crawling with Hunters bent on destroying them...
