Carrie Vaughn survived her air force brat childhood and managed to put down roots in Colorado. Her first book, Kitty and the Midnight Hour, launched a popular series of novels about a werewolf named Kitty who hosts a talk-radio advice show. She is also the author of Voices of Dragons, her debut novel for teen readers. Ms. Vaughn lives in Colorado.

Tobias S. Buckell is a Caribbean-born speculative fiction writer who grew up in Grenada, the US, and the British Virgin Islands. He now lives (through many strange twists of fate) in a small college town in Ohio with his wife, Emily.
Buckell was a first place winner for the Writers of the Future, and has been nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer and the Nebula Award. He is also a graduate of the Clarion Science Fiction Writing Workshop.
World Fantasy award winner Sofia Samatar is an Somali-American writer, poet, and professor. Her short stories and first novel, A Stranger in Olondria, have garnered numerous accolades and awards. Samatar teaches at James Madison University and edits the poetry journal, Interfictions: A Journal of Interstitial Arts. She lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
