Eirik Bjørnson doesn't know exactly how this beguiling sorceress, Karina has summoned him to her strange kingdom full of magic boxes that talk and metal chariots that need no beast to pull them. All he knows for certain is that when he first looked into her deep brown eyes, he sensed he was in the presence of his true shield maiden. Despite the woman's protests that their relationship is unworkable, Eirik cannot be swayed from his belief that she belongs to him. Especially as his dog, Ulf usually befriends no female and yet is both protective and doting of her. Regardless of what barriers she constructs, he vows she will be his for the keeping.
When Karina's friend Oliver who works at the Manhattan Museum of Natural History learns of Eirik's true heritage however, he kidnaps the Norse time-traveler in a bid to expose him to the media and go down in the history books. Can Karina save Eirik from becoming a real-life exhibit? Even if she does, how can the love she feels for him last when he belongs in another time?
