Philip is a former newspaper reporter, advertising salesman, and specialty newspaper publisher (antiques) turned book writer. Words and he have a history, and they’ve been on and off, hot and cold. They’ve had break-ups and make-ups. During all this, he’s lived in Seagrove, Wilmington, Robbins, Raleigh, and Greensboro, all North Carolina towns, in that order. Then, being still young and dumb, and feeling practically invincible, he tried Richmond, VA, Phoenix, AZ, and Hot Lanta, Georgia, called Atlanta by some folks. Now, he’s landed in Florida, close to a mouse with big ears.
He will read most any book EXCEPT fiction, including encyclopedias and dictionaries (well, a page or two every few years). That’s a pity because multitudes love fiction and it’s where the big money is, and he should be reading it to learn how to write it. That’s okay, though, because enough money is enough when you really think about it.
Biographies, adventure stories, how-to’s, histories, and art books stay the longest in his bookcases.
"Misery loves company," according to the old saying. But so do joy and happiness, according to author Philip E. Burrow.
In this autobiographical love confessional, which he has adapted to "Poetical Stories," he recounts his story of an intense relationship with a remarkable woman in both joyful and painful detail. What are "Poetical Stories?," you may ask. It's just the author's way of sharing his stories of love and romance written with an absolute minimum of words, and in sentences that usually end with words that rhyme, hopefully leaving the reader with story endings that will be remembered long-term and not just for 20 seconds.
His hope is that readers may somehow benefit from his heartfelt love stories as they navigate their own fields of love. A paperback version of the book, complete with 80 blank journal or diary pages, is available for readers who would like to write some of their own love stories. Or maybe just use as a regular diary.
