Este texto profundiza en el llamado a la complementaria aplicación del Derecho Internacional Humanitario y los derechos humanos. Sobre la base de esta normativa y bajo el esquema de Galtung de diseñar un tratamiento para la situación de conflicto y violencia, la obra presenta una propuesta de acuerdo humanitario que, además de pretender resolver el problema de secuestro, busca la humanización del conflicto armado colombiano y atender el desoído llamado de tantos secuestrados, muchos de ellos con más de una década sin libertad.
