En los últimos años, el interés por los estudios sobre memoria e identidad ha conducido al replanteamiento de las fuentes tradicionales así como a la construcción de nuevos abordajes de la identidad que permiten visibilizar las tensiones y articulaciones que se producen entre estos ámbitos a la hora de investigar sobre la hispanidad. La investigación para este estudio se mueve, entonces, entre la historia y la memoria narrada por algunos sefardíes a través de escritos y entrevistas realizadas a algunos miembros de la comunidad judía en Colombia.
