The doctrines of ‘Grace’ and ‘Holiness’ have since been a contentious issue amongst many preachers and bible scholars – with each extreme side opposing the doctrine of the other.
This however, is not the scriptures’ agenda – and certainly not God’s.
For He is not an Author of confusion!
To the two doctrines, there is a balance.
The Grace doctrine, is the salient truth of the gospel.
The gospel of Christ, that confirms that all men were made sinners through the act of one man – Adam;
Similarly, all men, will also have the opportunity to be made perfect, through the act of one Man – Jesus, who also is the Christ.
Salvation can only be gotten in Jesus – through Faith; for it is God’s grace to us.
The case for Holiness, can be better understood, by knowing that our new citizenship in Heaven (which was afforded us by Grace), comes with certain terms and conditions – which must be met.
Conditions, which prove our loyalty to the Son of God, who saved us all by Himself – and made us kings and priests unto His God and Father.
Once we desire holiness, the HolySpirit becomes available to assist us with this journey.
Refusing to ‘aspire‘ towards His standard for Holiness however, is akin to rebellion and the sin of unbelief.
Ultimately, this invalidates and voids our status as citizens of the Commonwealth of Zion.
Let’s peruse the scriptures together, to understand the nitty-gritty of the Grace and Holiness doctrines, as revealed in the word of God.
We are, at the centre of His GRACE.
