Harry Marlowe has worked hard all his life, and has a satisfying career. He's got the nice car, the beautiful house in a great neighbourhood. But Harry is lonely. He's lacking in the love department. The past few months, Harry has lived in solitude, working remotely from home during the pandemic. He has not allowed anyone into his bubble – keeping friends and family at arm's length to protect himself from contracting coronavirus. The solitude has really put a damper on his love life.
But when there is a lull in cases, Harry decides to host a dinner party at his house, inviting a few friends, and neighbours. Harry's friend, Jack, introduces him to Calvin, who is a few years his junior. Harry falls head over heels in love with him. Calvin has fallen through the cracks, aging out of the foster care system, then losing his job and apartment when the pandemic started. Recently, he's been living in a homeless shelter - which is where Jack befriended him.
They are from two vastly different socioeconomic backgrounds. They don't have too much in common. Still, he adores Calvin. Which is why he asks the young man to move in with him, on the pretense of needing a live-in housekeeper. The two end up staying under lockdown together for months, as cases rise dramatically in their area.
