Knights of Passion
|
After her harrowing adventures with the Black Bear Clan, Zelda is ready to rest with her knights at Wolf Fortess, and perhaps do some steamy catching up. Her plans are thwarted, however, when the leader of Raven's Cross, a beautiful and dangerous witch, comes seeking revenge for the massacre of her coven. Don't miss the third chapter of this lesbian harem romance series!

Selene swallowed hard at that news and cast her eyes on the fire. Their dark depths echoed sadness . . . and anger. "My love for Zelda is so deep, devoted, and pure," she said, "and yet she spreads her sweet thighs for another so easily. And Calain . . . Calain is all she cares for." Selene lifted her eyes. "She asked for Calain when you saw her, did she not?" she predicted.
Cassandra nodded regretfully. "Tis not because she doesn't care for you," she said at once. "Zelda cares for all of us. But she is young and beautiful and surrounded by women who are constantly tempting and seducing her. There was always going to be competition for such a fair maiden as she."
--
Melvalda scoffed. "Perhaps if you were a little girl again, unsullied by whatever toxic potions they fed you to make you so brutely. You will never be a worthy sorceress now. Now you are the pale imitation of a man."
Cassandra tensed. "No. I am a woman. A strong woman. A powerful woman. That my power is different from yours does not make it inferior. Or why dost thou not draw nearer and find out?" So saying, Cassandra drew the Bane Stone from her satchel and threw it far away, so that it would no longer have an effect on Melvalda. Then she waited. To her surprise, Melvalda smiled.

The Wolf Knight's eyes were a startlingly bright violet, and they practically glowed in her pale face when the moonlight shone upon them. She was watching Calain intently, and at last, she sheathed her sword on her back and said, "A Knight of Falcon. What are you doing out here alone, Little Bird?"
The words weren't intended to be insulting, Calain knew, but they reminded her of the bear queen, who had mocked her as "the bird knight," who had nearly defeated her and taken Zelda, and she snarled as she staggered to her feet, "None of your business, dog knight!"
"My name is Arryn," said the knight calmly, turning to watch as Calain stormed past. "And you would do well to remember that. Perhaps I won't step in to slay the next troll . . . Calain, Knight of Falcon."
Calain stopped in her tracks. "How dost thou know me?"
--
"Good," said a Rose Guard knight with solemn approval. She was not mocking or unkind but sincere. She was a tall older woman with a scarred face and graying brown hair that had been cropped short, so that she resembled a spiky-feathered bird of prey. "Die on your feet, fearlessly, like a woman," she said with the same approval. "Women do not fear pain. We know it all of our lives."
"True enough," agreed Calain and gave the older warrior a serious, respectful nod – then lunged at her and brought down her sword.
