Elsie has forged a life on the streets, now and again taking a liberty or two, but generally staying within the bounds of the law. She's formed a strong bond with a teenage boy, who she tries to look out for… even though he's only two years younger. It's not easy, especially of late… she worries he's sinking into a quicksand he'll never get out of, but he refuses to even talk about it.
She's not his mum… their friendship is more important than behaving like one.
Then, the day arrives that changes her life. An unfortunate set of circumstances leads to Elsie coming face-to-face with someone who makes an unexpected and dramatic impact.
