Captain Lorkus Denta is an alien weapons dealer, a warrior, and a hunter of rogue aliens for an intergalactic military force called Triad. He's from the planet Terra Kratus and is a tall, dark, arrogant, and disturbingly handsome alien. He doesn't like humans and thinks they are over-zealous, pompous, and relatively unattractive.
Lori Hansen is human. She's a widow whose husband fought and died in the Intergalactic Wars. The transport company she runs is all she has left of his legacy. She is also intelligent, savvy, and, to all eyes, a beautiful woman. After a stop at an unregistered depot, she accidentally winds up with cargo belonging to Lorkus. Denta's cargo contains illegal weapons. Worried that if she didn't turn him in to the proper authorities, she could lose her transport license, jeopardizing her life and that of her crew.
As she tries to send for help, her ship is hijacked by Lorkus and his men. Denta wants his cargo back. Lori's encounter with Lorkus Denta proves explosive.
When she is thrown in her ship's Brig, she realizes the alien captain obviously wants more than his weapons back.
She falls hard for the alien captain, but then he rejects her, destroying her heart. There is something about his rogue alien DNA that pushes him away.
