A short story about Alyssa, a scholar from the Kingdom of Sideralis' Tower of Knowledge, who goes out to do fieldwork on her main focus of study, a mountain that has an object of power. She's heard all of the rumors about people not coming back and the superstitions of the local villages, but this is the only way to get more data. Alyssa finds the answers she is looking for and then some when she encounters the mirror and it takes on her form.
Childhood friends Tourma and Acacia go on a periless journey to a cursed mountain in search of something wondrous. It becomes impossible for them to abandon this quest when the trail isn't what they had expected and they become lost. To make things worse, the path behind them changed as well. What dark force wants to keep them heading up the mountain?
