"The devil on the island" is a trilogy by Joan Pont that follows Carlos, a professional assassin, through a series of gripping and tragic events.
Episode I:
Carlos arrives in Mallorca to carry out three assassinations. Years after sowing panic in Mallorca, Carlos, now a morphine-addicted assassin, receives a special assignment from an American foundation: to execute "historical justice." Reluctantly accepting, he is moved by the photograph of María García, whom he must avenge, hoping to forget Elena and reunite with his unknown daughter, Inés. This time, he is accompanied by Esther, who crossed his path by chance, forming a bloody bond that spans several continents. Unbeknownst to Carlos, he has created a monster worse than himself.
Episode III: Dogs of War
Seeking to forget Tania and all she represents, Carlos settles in the small Moroccan town of Taghazout. However, life is never easy for an assassin who has left a trail of death across continents. A nine-year-old boy enters his life, forcing him to experience emotions he never imagined. Mercenaries from the world's most powerful investment fund arrive in Taghazout to eliminate him, as he has meddled in affairs beyond his concern. Yet, he cannot turn back; he owes it to the boy who has inadvertently stirred his feelings.
This trilogy masterfully intertwines themes of love, betrayal, and redemption against the backdrop of Mallorca and beyond.
