Sandy Grissom
has loved books all her life. That love began by listening to her older sister read when she was still too young to discover the magic for herself. She's read everything from history to the phone book but her favorite authors are James Michener, Agatha Christie and the mystic William Blake.
Over the years, romantic novels became a favorite. The top of that list is Pride and Prejudice. When she retired she had too much time on her hands and spent too much money and trips to the library to get books in order to satisfy her restless soul. It was then she began to write herself.
As an adult she held a variety of jobs, all of them grist for her imaginative mind. The occupations in Choppy Waters will hopefully inspire someone to fight for their own dreams, to never give up on themselves or on love.
A widow, Sandy recently moved to southern Indiana where she lives near the younger of her two beloved sisters.

A girl raised in a series of foster homes is sent out at eighteen to fend for herself. She meets a soldier who says he understands how that must feel. Unknown to her, he was raised the same way. But he doesn't tell her that. Instead he borrows the story of a man he met in basic training. They two are lonely and marriage for what they think is love with is not really. When Aaron dies overseas, Julie decides to move to his hometown, Rigsby, Wyoming. She does wonder why none of his family comes to his funeral. Still, she hopes the family will accept her daughter, if not her. When she arrives in town, she cannot find the family that Aaron told her so much about. But news of someone new in town gets around so that the man whose life Aaron said was his life gets back to hi,. He has to tell the lady the truth. Even so he feels for her and his mother goes wild over the little girl. Though she has a hard time believing that Aaron talked about Alex's life instead of admitting he was a foster kid, too. Can Alex understand that she fell in love with him while thinking it was Aaron?
