Lillian Sherman loved everything about the holidays… Her mother had always made every Christmas magical…
Lilly never knew they were poor until she read about her mother's struggles. She only learned that after finding her journal in a hidden drawer under the desktop. After pouring over the pages, Lilly vowed to carry on the traditions her mother started; charity was at the top of her list.
So, this year, she agreed to co-host Pine Forest's annual Christmas event with an old-school friend. It was to raise money for needy kids; helping children was always a worthy cause.
Soon she realized she might have bitten off more sugar than she could handle when her friend put her in charge of the grand prize. But his sudden interest in her sends her into a panic. Why me?
Dixon Cain was never a fan of Christmas… He was young when he lost both parents on Christmas Eve…
Afterward, he and his younger brother were passed around to every relative they knew, and some they didn't. Finally, Vernon, his mother's older brother, agreed to take them both. He was strict and unforgiving with them and continually blamed his sister for the responsibility.
Dixon attributed their miserable situation to the miser who raised them, the holidays, and the mystery surrounding his parents' death. He finally felt some relief after his uncle died, leaving his fortune to the Cain brothers.
Pine Forest's annual charity event was coming in December. Dixon hadn't been back there since his parent's death. The only reason he agreed to attend this year was simple, the money they raised would help the homeless children in the area.
After twenty years of despising the holiday, he suddenly eager for Christmas Eve. Until he learned he was the grand prize.
