On a crisp morning in the sleepy coastal city of Crescent City, California, Marie Caldwell embarked on her daily ritual - a solitary stroll along the rugged, windswept beach. The salty ocean air invigorated her senses as the rhythmic crash of waves provided a soothing soundtrack to her meandering steps. Her favorite pastime was collecting agates from the abundant supply found along the shore. As she walked, her eyes constantly scanned the rocky sand for any hidden gems. She also enjoyed admiring the stacks of shoreline that had broken off over time and formed a stunning view offshore.
As Marie ambled across the shoreline, her keen eyes scanned the landscape, forever captivated by the ocean's bounty. Amidst the tangled driftwood and scattered stones, a peculiar object caught her discerning gaze. Stooping down, she plucked a smooth, oblong shape from the sand--an object unlike any she had ever encountered before.
It felt cool and slick in her palm. As she turned it over, she noticed intricate patterns etched on its surface, almost glowing under the morning sun. Curiosity piqued, Marie's fingers gently traced the mysterious markings, feeling a subtle hum beneath her touch. Lost in wonder, she didn't notice the low thrum growing louder in the distance.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over her, blocking the sunlight. Startled, Marie looked up to see a massive spaceship hovering just above the water, casting an otherworldly glow on the sand around her. The hum had become a roar, vibrating through her bones.
