I write fiction as a hobby. My “day job” is teaching music at a fine arts academy in Upstate New York, a position I took after retiring from a biotechnology company. I write short stories, mostly science fiction and fantasy, with occasional forays into contemporary literary fiction. I am currently publishing an epic space opera, “Star Song” in serial format on Smashwords, issuing a new approximately 10,000 word episode each month. I started the “Star Song” project as a discipline to hone my skills in writing longer fiction. I'm also working on the (hopefully) final revision of a science fiction novel, “Symbiosis” where alien intervention forces the human race give up its planet destroying industrial activity.
Much of my science fiction shows the influence of my experience in military intelligence with the US Navy's Naval Security Group (NAVSECGRU, now NETWARCOM). During my tour, I flew on numerous reconnaissance missions with VQ-1 (Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One) in the Far East. My love of nature shows through in all of my fiction. I live in the scenic Finger Lakes area of New York State where I enjoy the company of my beautiful wife and our wonderful dog, Dash.
