Bill Perry grew up on the east side of Brockton, Massachusetts where he attended Brockton Public Schools. He graduated from Bridgewater State College (now Bridgewater State University) in Bridgewater, Massachusetts as an English major. He attended graduate school at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and received a master's degree in English as well as one in secondary school counseling.
Perry worked at UPS, initially loading and unloading trailers and then as a delivery driver. He spent a number of years in management at UPS, ending his career as the company's Employee Communications Manager.
He is a former adjunct faculty member of Saint Leo University, whose main campus is in Saint Leo, Florida. He taught Academic Writing at the university's North Charleston, South Carolina center.
Perry lives with Cindy, his wife, on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. They have three grown children.
Not Perfect is Perry's first novel. He recently completed his second novel, Glue Lines, which will be published in 2023.
His third novel, Opening Closed Doors, is a work in progress.
