Charles Carl Clatterbuck was born in Canton Ohio in 1935. The son of a machinist, Charles learned early how to build and make tools by hand. He used these skills to motivate his study of music. Charles became a drummer for the United States Army, and later attended Kent state where he earned his BFA. His artistic talents led him to work for Holiday Inn rendering Ink drawings of famous hotel buildings by hand. Charles then worked as an Ad-Man for Hasselbart & Mitten where he pitched ad campaigns ranging from Camel cigarettes to used car sales. He served as Art Director for O'Neil's clothing store producing weekly ad campaigns for news print, and continued his music career until his retirement. After retirement, Charles returned to art where he found that what was once called commercial art was now known as graphic art. He then attended Walden school of Multimedia in Anaheim California where he earned a certification in graphic design at the age of 65. Chuck now uses his talents to create a world of clowns, animals, leprechauns, and other mythical beings. His unique characters are extreme illustrations done in pencil, scanned into the computer and air brushed digitally. Major influences are Chuck Jones & Walt Disney.
