Christine Maclean moved from Scotland to West Berlin in 1979 in search of adventure. She wasn't disappointed and experienced several, the most fascinating of which was the East Side Gallery project which she managed. She worked in East Berlin at the British Embassy whilst living in West Berlin and crossed the border crossing Checkpoint Charlie every day. She has travelled extensively and lived in Canada, Romania and Greece. She now lives in her native Scotland.
