Daniel Friedman est né à Memphis en 1980 et vit aujourd'hui à New York. Dans son premier roman, Ne deviens jamais vieux, publié chez Sonatine Éditions en 2012, il met en scène Buck Schatz un ancien policier de 87 ans qui reprend son 357 magnum pour une dernière mission. Nommé pour le prix Edgar et lauréat du prix Macavity, les droits d'adaptation ont été achetés par le producteur d'Harry Potter et de Sherlock Holmes. En 2015 on retrouve l'attachant Buck Schatz dans Ne deviens jamais pauvre pour une nouvelle aventure encore plus périlleuse.
