David M. Gold is the author or editor of seven books, including 'The Shaping of Nineteenth-Century Law: John Appleton and Responsible Individualism' and 'Democracy in Session: A History of the Ohio General Assembly.' He has also published numerous articles in legal and historical journals. He received a law degree and doctorate in history at The Ohio State University and currently works as an attorney for the Ohio Legislative Service Commission.
