Ermelinda Makkimane has studied the Scriptures and Feminist perspectives in Literature. This gives her a unique hold over the topic she has written on – a womanist perspective on Mary, her debut book.
Ms Makkimane loves thinking poetry and sometimes she writes down those words. She lives in a hamlet on the river island of Divar in Goa, India’s tiniest state, where she spends a lot of time listening to bird calls and watching the afternoon breeze scandalise the leaves.
Ms Makkimane is currently working on the third book in the series “Her Story”. The series aims to foreground some of the silent women characters of the New and Old Testaments, to give a voice to those women whose lives can only now be re-imagined.
