David Franklin Powell, auch bekannt als D. Frank Powell und White Beaver (1847 - 1906) war ein Apotheker, Arzt, Feldchirurg, Hersteller von Patentarzneimitteln und zeitweise Politiker, der mit Buffalo Bill Cody in Verbindung stand. Er war drei Amtszeiten lang Bürgermeister von La Crosse, Wisconsin, und kandidierte zweimal für das Amt des Gouverneurs von Wisconsin. Darüber hinaus schrieb er populäre Unterhaltungsromane.
