Gene is currently editorial director of Everplans, a technology startup revolutionizing the way people organize and plan their lives (and, um, eventual deaths). His job: Generate content and experiences to help shed new light on topics that are traditionally considered dreaded, dark, or really boring. He's done two tours in Maxim's digital department, most recently as Digital Editorial Director. Before this he was editorial director for Hachette Filipacchi's Digital division, overseeing content direction and implementation for Premiere.com and worked closely with WomansDay.com, Elle.com, PopPhoto.com and HFM's other digital properties. At the beginning of the dot-com boom, Gene was the Senior Writer and one of the driving forces behind the independent Webzine Tag, an online community of artists and writers. He has written for a variety of consumer and trade publications/Websites, made a number of TV appearances (his personal favorite: The Chevy Chase A&E Biography), performed a weekly radio segment centering around technology for a Philly radio station, and is a graduate of NYU journalism school. He began his career writing movie reviews at the age of 16 for suburban Philadelphia newspaper. Apart from writing books that frighten his loved ones, he also founded BrutlYuth, LCC and spends way too much time updating his dogs' Instagram.
