He is a Ph.D cadidate in Monitoring and Evaluation. He hold masters degree in Project Planning and Management, Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Diploma in project management and several professional certificates. Gitonga is also an entrepreneur, environment impact assessor, member of project management proffessionals, evaluation society of kenya and professional trainers association of kenya.
