Ivan Golding - Libros y biografía

Ivan Golding was born in the Parish of Manchester Jamaica on the 15th of May 1937. As a young man, he was prompted to come to England after the second world war when the British Government had asked for people of West Indian descent to come to Britain to live and work so that the economy could grow from which was very low at the time. After coming to live in England in the early sixties, he and his family had many ups and downs in their lives, but they lived in hope of a better and prosperous Britain full of God loving people. Whenever the West Indian international cricketers came to Headingley Stadium, he and many other black supporters had to stay away because of the abuse they suffered from the racist English supporters. Since then, he never gone to another cricket match. Instead, he turned to community work to help and encourage young children to keep out of trouble and work towards a brighter future. Although throughout his life he suffered from dyslexia, in his older years he began to write books that would excite and comfort those who read his stories. He was able to win the ACAP Windrush Legacy award for his lifetime Achievements and wanted to say a big thank you to the many supporters who voted for him.
