I was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1947. My family emigrated to South America when I was eighteen months old. Before I was five years old I had lived in Peru, Venezuala, and Chicago, Illinois. I suppose that has something to do with my fondness for traveling to far off places.
Traveling has exposed me to a wonderful and very complex world that I never knew was out there. Curious people read books to learn about things they know little about. Traveling should be part of that process. Not only will you become a better American but, also, a better citizen of the world.
