JAMES T. SIBURT attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and Vanderbilt University, where he earned post graduate degrees in History and in Library & Information Science. His previous written works, published in various magazines and journals, are on Tennessee history and Civil War military topics, and he contributed two articles to the 1996 Tennessee Encyclopedia of History & Culture. His fiction writing includes several volumes of historical mysteries and police procedurals, most of them set in late nineteenth-century Tennessee. Retired from a thirty-year career as librarian for the US Army Corps of Engineers—Nashville District—he currently resides in Hendersonville, Tennessee. In addition to writing, his interests include travel, golf, and the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators.
