Katja ŠMID. Katja Šmid is a Tenured Scientist in Sephardic studies at the Jewish and Islamic Studies Department at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and co-editor of the European Journal of Jewish Studies (Brill). Previously, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Salamanca (2013), a Marie Curie fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2014- 2016), and a teaching and research fellow at the Complutense University (2017-18). She is the author of a scientific edition of Eliezer Papo’s late-nineteenth-century Judeo-Spanish rabbinical treatise Mešeq Beti, focusing on the customs relating to Sabbath observance among the Sephardim of Bosnia (CSIC, 2012).
