Mario Gheras- writer, historian.

He was born in the Republic of Moldova in 1996.

The author grew up in a country disrupted by processes associated with the fall of communism, in times of turbulence, deprivation, corruption and suffering. He came to believe, as many of his generation came to believe, that dreams, passions and aspirations were not for him. In a way, his generation was doomed to repeat their parents' fates. It is fateful but also tragic to be born in troubled times! He had to overcome unimaginable difficulties when he was growing up. However, all the suffering and deprivation has led to an inner protest and desire to fight for own and others’ improved human condition. This drive to fight his own limits slowly revealed that he was doomed to write! And in writing he chooses the painful and the dramatic of his times and of times past. In a way, born of ashes, he treads lightly when touching the ashes of past generations and their extreme suffering.
