Mary, born to Maltese immigrants in 1960s Australia, returned to Malta with her parents at age four, leaving her grandparents behind. The joyous family reunion contrasted sharply with her mother's declining mental health. Mary cared for her ill mother until her passing on December 20, 1993. This challenging journey, marked by unconditional love, gave Mary profound insights into the human condition.
Mary's experiences are reflected in her publication, "Liberation at Last," released in December 2023 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of her mother's death.
During a 2017 family visit to Malta, Mary became inspired to write poetry. Her work, stemming from lifelong soul-searching and spiritual experiences, explores themes such as life's meaning, death, suffering, injustice, abuse, light, darkness, healing, empowerment, and enlightenment.
Currently residing in South Oxfordshire, Mary finds inspiration in countryside walks and her river-view living room. While writing has been her passion since adolescence, she also enjoys dancing, yoga, meditation, cooking, baking, and socialising. Mary is a British Wheel of Yoga trained practitioner and teacher, as well as a healer.
