Michael C. Goodwin began doing professional art in the early seventies, back when dinosaurs still roamed parts of Utah. Since then he has explored the galaxy through his cartooning and colorful illustration work. He is the author of a half-dozen cartoon and reference books including 'Who Was That Monolith I Saw You With', 'My Stars!' and 'Son of Monolith.' 'Dragons of Light' and 'Dragons of Darkness' with Orson Scott Card, and the 'Guide to the Commonwealth' with Alan Dean Foster. He is a cover and interior illustrator of science and science fiction books, magazines and fanzines.
After several false starts and many outlines, Michael began seriously writing science fiction novels in 2008. His first book, "Field Trip," was released in 2014 to no effect or notice. It has been recently rewritten and re-edited. It will be re-released along with his second novel, "Standardized Test," both to be published this year.
With his wife, Lynne, they have spent many years traveling the U.S. exhibiting his science fiction and her fantasy illustrations at art shows and science fiction conventions. They have one grown son, Rob, (a graphic artist and writer as well), a mammalogist daughter-in-law, Courtnee, and have been adopted by a small flock of quail and other furry creatures who live in their back yard.
