Pnina Tel Dan has a master's degree (with honors) in public policy from Tel Aviv University, a teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree (with honors) in Hebrew literature and philosophy from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and a certified librarian degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She coordinated, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the scientific foreign relations in various countries and was the administrative director of the forum of the chief scientists in the government ministries. Pnina retired from public service in 2010 for health reasons.
