Richard John Alexander studied German, French and General Linguistics at Jesus College, Cambridge from 1964-1967. He graduated with a BA in Modern Languages. From 1970-1974 came the study of economics as an external student of the University of London. In 1974 he received a BSc(Econ) from the University of London.He has led the life of an expatriate in various European countries for the last fifty or more years. He has worked at ten different colleges and universities in Finland, Italy, England, Germany and Austria. His final appointment was as a full professor at Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria. He retired for health reasons in 2013 and is now an emeritus professor.
